Homemade Bubble Bath

By Beth

We’ve always been big fans of bubble baths. However, I’m not a big fan of the long list of ingredients on the bottle. Solution? Make your own!

Kid Approved/Mom Friendly Bubble Bath

  • ½ cups Dr. Bronner’s liquid soap (or another natural liquid soap)
  • 1 egg white

That’s it! Mix it together and add water. The egg whites give you strong lasting bubbles!

Mix It Up!

A bubble bath doesn’t just have to be for fun. It can be relaxing or healing as well! By adding herbs, oils, and other things you have around the house to your bath you can nourish your and heal your skin gently!

Depending on our needs we often add other things like:

Essential oils – Adding different essential oils can give you different benefits. We love to use lavender before bedtime for a relaxing bath!

Magnesium flakes – magnesium play a very important role in the body’s functions.

Honey – honey is very moisturizing!

Redmond Clay – Redmond clay is great for detox baths.

Oatmeal – soothes itchy skin.

Peppermint – adding peppermint to your bath can be very energizing and a great pick-me-up.

There are so many wonderful things you could add…the list goes on and on.

What are your favorite things to add to the bath? Do you make your own bubble bath?

  1. You say ‘add water’? How much? Or do you mean, Add to (bath) water? Also, do you need to refrigerate this mixture or will the egg whites stay antibacterial at room temp? Thanks!

  3. I’ll have to try this with my grandkids. I hate the commercial products especially with the chemical fragrance oils used. Big advocate of essential oils but please be aware you should never use peppermint essential oil with children. Peppermint essential oil has a cooling affect on the body and can dangerously lower body temperature too much and too rapidly.
