Kate’s teaching her kids how to do shots…ginger and lemon shots! 😂 It’s a great way to help support your body! If you deal with inflammation, digestion worries, or a sluggish immune system, then you should try making these! They are easy to make, and aren’t those little Mason jars adorable?
She said the shots were kid approved, “They had fun shaking them up…and they taste like spicy lemonade! But they are so good for them.”
Ginger has many benefits besides anti-inflammatory properties, digestive support, and immune support, it also may help lower cholesterol (1), improve blood sugar levels (2), and improve brain functionality (3)!
Ginger can be found in dried bulk, pills, powders, teas, extracts, and tinctures. Teas and soups are also options.
Besides doing ginger shots, we also recommend Earthley’s Elderberry Elixir (Original Formula) and Ginger Root Capsules. You can read more about ginger in Herbal Profile: Ginger.
Check out the recipes below, and here’s a video showing how to make it fresh!
Kate’s Two Recipes for Ginger Shots:
Recipe #1 (Spicy)
- 2.5 tbsp ginger juice
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp Manuka honey (optional)
- 1/16th tsp cayenne (optional)
- 1/4 cup filtered water (optional, but less spicy!)
Recipe #2 (Not As Spicy)
- 1 tbsp ginger juice
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp Manuka honey
- 2 tbsp filtered water water (or fill to 2 oz)
The second is much less spicy so it is great for kids!
Directions:
Step 1: If using fresh, juice the ginger and lemon, and then mix together. If using bottled, just mix together.
Step 2: Enjoy your shot of gut support, inflammation busting, and immunity supports goodness!
That’s all there is to it!
Notes: If you juice it fresh, this lasts a few days in the refrigerator. If using an organic pasteurized juice, it will last for about a month in the fridge. You can mix some up ahead of time and grab a shot when you need it!
Hi, I was interested in learning the brand/source of the small juicer used in the video? Thanks!
